Thus the unequivocal Creed that belief and sincere utterance of which is what allows one to recognize themselves as Muslim (One who surrenders to God’s Will) , which is returning to the Deen al-Fiţra (Primordial/Natural Religion, state at birth) and accepting the undeniable Truth conscientiously is;

Lâ ilâha illa Allâh

There is no god/deity to be worshipped, obeyed, followed, or truthfully exists but only Allâh; rejecting all forms of god(s) and deities first by “Lâ ilâha” (There is no god/deity), then by affirming the absolute reality of the Oneness, Uniqueness of Allâh as Creator, Lord, Sustainer, Owner of Everything and Possessor of all perfect attributes who is other than His creation and incomparable and above all by “illa Allâh“ (but -only- Allâh). This is the key to Truth and to attribute divinity to a created entity (self desires, humankind, animals, natural phenomena, angels, prophets, idols etc.) is the only unpardonable sin mentioned in the Qur’an

Allâh does not forgive that partners should be set up with Him;
but He forgives anything else to whom He pleases;
to set up partners with Allah is to devise a heinous sin indeed

Al-‘Imrân (4):48 1

… and the second part of the Creed is;

Muĥammad (‘abduhu wa) ar-Rasûl Allâh

Muĥammad ﷺ is the (slave/servant and) messenger (convoy) of Allâh ﷻ; confirming the teachings and validity of the Prophets before him as well as the medium of communication Allâh ﷻ chose to interact with humankind out of Wisdom. Without this medium chosen by the Creator, The Creator vs. creation connection is severed and denying the perfect model presented to be followed is denying Guidance and is a rebellion against Allâh ﷻ. What can be better Guidance, Help, Mercy than being presented with a perfection and splendor of creation, in our own kind, and a message and a way protected by Divine Grace through him? What could be the position of one who denies such blessing and love? By accepting this second part of the testimony we recognize this blessing and love, obey, imitate and learn from the Beloved Messenger ﷺ as ordered by Allâh ﷻ.

And We have not sent down the Book (the Qur’ân) to you (O Muhammad),
except that you may explain clearly unto them those things in which they differ,
and as a guidance and a mercy for a folk who believe

An-Nahl (16):64
